Wellington Ekaya is a Senior Scientist-Capacity Building at the BecA-ILRI Hub. He is responsible for capacity building strategy development and implementation; development and management of strategic and programmatic value-adding partnerships; resource mobilization; reporting to donors; design of training programmes and training materials; managing the BecA fellowship programme; mentorship; and co-managing BecA-ILRI Hub’s monitoring, evaluation and learning framework. Ekaya holds a PhD (1998) from University of Nairobi’s Faculty of Science in Plant Ecology. He graduated with Master of Science in 1992 from University of Nairobi, specializing in ruminant and pasture nutrition. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Range Management in 1989 from the same University. Ekaya has published over 30 papers in international refereed journals, four book chapters and presented over 30 papers in conferences and workshops. As Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi where he spent 15 years, he conducted research, carried out several consultancies and successfully supervised over 25 postgraduate students.
